Speaker’s Bio

Enrique Acha: graduated from the University of Michoacán in 1979 and obtained a PhD degree from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand in 1988. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Universities of Toronto, Canada and Durham, England. He is a Reader at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK where he lectures and conducts research on power systems analysis and power electronics applications in renewable energy systems. He is Chair of the inter-university Glasgow-Strathclyde Centre for Economic Renewable Power Delivery and Head of the FACTS Research Laboratory. He has authored or co-authored over seventy papers, half of which are transaction-grade IEEE and IEE publications.
